About The Event
The Skyrunning Series is based on European-style mountain running, where technical trails, big mountains and fast descents into villages below are the order of the day.
Mont Rochelle SkyRace® starts in the famous Cape wine-growing town of Franschhoek. The race is a Cape Classic and a firm favourite of many trail runners.
The 25km race starts with a relentless climb from the Dutch Reformed Church in Main Road, Franschhoek up to Du Toits Peak (1419m). The trails offer a fast-flowing descent into the valley to the Uitkyk Aid Station before another climb up to Perdekop. From here, it's a long and technical descent into the finish in Franschhoek.
