Cape Town Adventure Film Festival

Launched in 2018, the annual Cape Town Adventure Film Festival [CTAFF] has become one of South Africa's premier film and content showcases in the “adventure” genre, which includes sport, conservation, travel and lifestyle.

Through the curation of high quality, experiential community events, coupled with a local adventure community that has an insatiable appetite for high quality content, we recognized the opportunity to create and present the local film industry in this genre, with a credible and supported platform with which they could participate.

With a mission to ultimately strengthen and grow the genre here in the Western Cape, and across South Africa.

Over the previous three editions of the festival, we have grown the LIVE audience to more than 2000 people, and the online following to more than 20,000 (2020 VIRTUAL FESTIVAL plus social media and email databases), collectively having showcased 45 local and international content creators in the process, hosted 18 filmmakers/directors, 6 adventure photographers and multiple industry partners thus developing strong partnerships with the local industry who continue to support and assist us with our vision.

The 2024 edition will be held between the 12-20th of April at various venues in Cape Town, and promises an even more exhilarating lineup with more than 30 locally and internationally produced films as well as a vibrant guest speaker list, including Academy Award winning director Pippa Ehrlich, Golden Globe Race winner Kirsten Neuschäfer and celebrated surf photographer Alan Van Geysen.

The outdoors will forever hold a unique allure to humankind's adventurous spirit but while conquering the outdoors is one thing, respecting and protecting it is another. This festival is a celebration of exactly that.
