What is Bloc 11?
Bloc 11 is an indoor bouldering gym, established late in 2016 in Paarden Eiland Cape Town. With the aim of being at the cutting edge of South Africa's indoor bouldering scene, Bloc 11 has grown a community of climbers obsessed with the sport and have expanded to open a second facility in Diep River in 2021!

Hmm....bouldering, what is that?
Bouldering is a form of climbing. Usually done on approximately 5m high walls with a soft landing zone, on a very well foamed floor space. Be warned, bouldering can be highly addictive, offering a full body workout and endless problem solving, it keeps you coming back for more!

How do I try this out?
Climbing is for everyone!
Whether you are a new climber looking to learn the basics, or a seasoned veteran with years of climbing under your belt, come and experience this world class bouldering gym!
Feeling a little daunted? Bloc 11 offers a FREE beginners class every Saturday! Phone ahead and book your spot at either location and you will be shown the basics along with some safety guidelines and then you will be good to go!

The Gravity Bowl!
If all this talk of scaling walls is getting you psyched, pop into Bloc 11 on the 15th of July 2023 to check out South Africa's biggest indoor bouldering competition! And of course if you are already one with the climbing community, this is an event not to be missed!
The Gravity Bowl is a competition for ALL climbers from complete newbies to climbing fanatics. This year Bloc 11 has even added an Under 13 category!
There are some awesome First Ascent prizes up for grabs for all categories!
Here is a little taste of what is on offer:
- The Yak Sak 50L Duffel: This is any climber's dream prize. Climbing naturally comes hand in hand with travelling and often travelling to pretty rugged places. This Duffel is a perfect travel bag that is hardy and protects all of your precious cargo and gear!
- A Men's Down for It Jacket & Women's Arctic Down Jacket: Climbing Season = Winter. Need we say more? A down jacket is a much needed essential when heading out to climb and the Gravity Bowl competitors stand a chance of winning and staying cosy this season!
