For obvious reasons SA has always featured a small representation of athletes at the Winter Olympics and this year will be no different.With the nation’s hopes and dreams riding on the shoulders of a handful of athletes, it is encouraging to know that we can count on a seasoned campaigner like Alex Heath’s presence.
Alex competed at the highest level for South Africa, participating in six World Ski Championships and three Winter Olympic Games. The highlights of his career includes a 16th place in the Combined at the 2001 World Championships, St Anton, Austria, and a 27th place in the Giant Slalom at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, Torino, Italy. Alex also won the 1999 European Artificial Ski Slope Championships in the UK.
