We recruit our own ‘Crash Test Smarty’
The name Gavin Raubenheimer is synonymous with mountaineering in South Africa. Arguably one of the countries most experienced mountaineering guides and instructors, Gavin runs a company called Peak High Mountaineering based in KZN from where he leads guided mountaineering trips around the country and abroad.
As a guide and instructor Gavin knows the importance of being adequately prepared and having the appropriate clothing cannot be overstated. Gavin is also heavily involved with the KZN Search and Rescue team and often witnesses first hand what can happen when people are not appropriately dressed.
Since late last year First Ascent has been working closely with Gavin with one purpose in mind… improving our products through vigorous testing.
Gavin regularly feeds the design team with practical information gleaned from personal experience and putting products through their paces.
It is through feedback like Gavin’s that we can continue to innovate and evolve our products to the best they can be and to sure that they will stand up to whatever is thrown their way.
