Saving lives… all in a days work for the KZN Search and Rescue Team
The Search and Rescue Teams that regularly perform amazing feats of heroism all around our country often go unnoticed until you or someone close to you is touched directly by this very special group of individuals. The work is performed on a voluntary basis and these individuals unselfishly sacrifice their time, often placing their own lives in danger to save the life or lives of others.
More often than not, they’re also required to perform their task under the most inhospitable conditions and it was on this basis that we felt compelled to get involved in an attempt to make their job just that little easier.
The team reports that the job at hand certainly becomes a lot easier when you’re not worried about being wet and cold and can actually feel your hands!
The KZN Search and Rescue Team recently supplied the safety support at the Rory Lowther Memorial Challenge which was also supported by First Ascent.
